Tree Diagrams

Learners will be able to:

• Represent information using a tree diagram to show all possible outcomes of a sequence of events. • Calculate the probability associated with each branch of a tree diagram. • Determine the probability that a specific outcome occurs, given two independent events. • Apply the product rule to calculate the probability of a sequence of outcomes. • Use the addition rule to add probabilities when events are mutually exclusive. • Interpret the results of using a tree diagram and calculating probabilities for different scenarios.
