Exploring Gradients

Learners will be able to:

• Calculate the gradient of a straight line from a distance-time graph. • Determine the speed represented by the gradient of each section of Ivan's journey. • Use the formula M = delta y / delta x to find the slope or gradient of a linear graph. • Identify that the steepness of the gradient can vary from zero to undefined. • Calculate the average gradient between two points on a curve by finding the gradient of the straight line that passes through both points.
