Gradient of a Straight Line

Learners will be able to:

• Calculate the gradient of a line joining two points using the formula: (change in y) / (change in x). • Identify the gradient of a horizontal line as zero. • Explain why the gradient of a vertical line is undefined. • Determine whether two lines are parallel or perpendicular based on their gradients. • Apply the concept that collinear points have equal gradients.
