Cartesian Plane and Plotting Points Example

Learners will be able to:

• Identify the x and y values of a point on the Cartesian plane. • Write down the coordinates of a point as an ordered pair in the format (x, y). • Determine the coordinates of a point that lies on the x or y axis. • Read off the coordinates of a point from the Cartesian plane by listing the x value followed by the y value. • State the correct order for writing down the coordinates of a point, with the x value first and the y value second.
