Trigonometric Ratios

Learners will be able to:

• Define the sides of a right-angle triangle in relation to an angle theta. • Identify and explain the definitions of sine, cosine, and tangent in terms of the sides of a right-angle triangle. • Recall and apply the mnemonic technique SOH, CAH, TOA to remember the trigonometric ratios. • Explain how the trigonometric ratios relate to the lengths of the sides of a right-angle triangle and its interior angles. • Identify the correct formula for calculating the sine, cosine, and tangent of an angle in a right-angle triangle.
